About The Brue Boys

aaex1.jpg

The choir was established in 2007 by Choir Director Jennifer Westcott who advertised locally for the men of Baltonsborough in Somerset to join “A New Choir for Men.” The first rehearsal attracted 17 local singers but over the years the membership has grown to over 40 with choristers coming from as far south as Yeovil and as far north as Wells.

The choir is in demand and performs regularly around the area in support of good causes and charities. The choir’s repertoire is varied  and includes a wide variety of music from classical pieces to songs from the shows, sea shanties, folk songs, Zulu chants, rock’n’roll and much more. The ethos of the choir is one of friendliness, comradeship, a lack of formality and a love of singing.

Highlights of recent years were our tour to Maillezais in France in 2016 and our appearance at the 2019 Glastonbury Extravaganza in front of an audience of 10,000.
